Events Manager

Reporting to the head of the Creative Team (currently the Brand Manager), this mid-level candidate is responsible for creating, managing, and executing corporate events for both internal and external audiences. Internal events are critical touchpoints in the employee experience, and external events support the client experience and consistently position the brand among key stakeholders. Events will range widely and may include: corporate picnics, holiday parties, happy hours, in-house celebrations, panel presentations, an annual executive conference, VIP client experiences, and large-scale parties.  The events manager will have singular responsibility for the development, execution, and success of the events, including budget management and pre- and post-event coordination. He/she will collaborate closely with internal teams including HR, graphics, communications, corporate business development, and corporate responsibility to create engaging and interactive end-to-end event experiences.

The position requires strong skills in visualization, event planning, communication, project management, budget / cost management, and vendor management. Critical to success in the role is good judgment, excellent taste, an eye for details, and a desire to deliver incredible event experiences. The ideal candidate is creative, passionate, collaborative, and confident working with executive leadership, and has the ability to multi-task while managing their time and resources effectively.


  • Collaborate across functions to develop impactful event strategies for both internal and external stakeholders, working closely with leadership to identify event objectives, themes, structure, content, engagement, experience, and budgets
  • Monitor event trends and contribute thought leadership in themes, venues, and approaches to events to bring energy, engagement and vision to the brand through experiential marketing
  • Create event proposals and budgets to be presented to internal clients, using tools such as mood boards, pitches, and tours to ensure alignment of expectations and vision
  • Manage the events calendars, ensuring internal coordination with leadership schedules and minimizing conflicts with industry events, holidays, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal clients, communications, corporate business development, and executive leadership to develop guests lists and manage attendance aggressively
  • Work closely with the in-house design team and/or marketing agencies to develop branding and graphics
  • Conduct the RFP process, vendor selection, and vendor management for promotional items, photography / videography, event design and production, floral, catering, A/V, furniture and décor, labor, entertainment, etc.
  • Create, track, and manage detailed budgets from estimates and quotes to deposits and final payments
  • Collaborate with the branding and communications team to position and document events to be used for PR and marketing collateral including social media
  • Lead pre-event management including, but not limited to, project plan creation, event objectives / themes / content documentation, action list management, agenda development / show flow, and core team communications
  • Proactively identify event-related challenges and work with vendors / internal team to develop alternate solutions
  • Lead on-site execution including pre- and post-event management (logistics, rehearsals, presenters), including evening events and ancillary meetings
  • Limited domestic travel and work during off-hours including nights and weekends may be required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field is required
  • 5-7+ years of experience in meetings / events management for an events agency, hospitality location, association, or corporate environment; A/E/C experience is a plus, but not required
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) is desired, but not required
  • Proven experience in event management encompassing all stages of pre-planning, planning, design and production, execution, and evaluation for a range of events including corporate meetings, conferences, business networking, galas, weddings, etc.
  • Proficiency in myEmma, EventBrite, and/or other marketing campaign platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • The ability to create event experiences with meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational expertise to deliver measurable marketing results is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required: Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Dynamics are a plus
  • Strengths in implementing processes, creating efficiencies, and negotiation
  • Ability to manage senior-level stakeholders and align event content / expectations accordingly
