Associate, Research & Development

The R&D Associate is responsible for supporting the departments overall growth strategy by executing administrative tasks, managing special projects, and the day-to-day oversight of the Co|Lab facility. From day one, this individual will contribute to a budding research and development team, tasked with solving our industry’s toughest challenges. They will help execute leadership’s vision to drive innovation and excellence in the construction industry by managing R&D project mockups in the facility, and leveraging our expertise for client events, educational seminars, and engagement activities.

This individual should have a basic understanding of commercial design and construction processes with a special passion for marketing. Key to this position are strong written and verbal communication skills, project management skills, creative thinking, relationship management, and be comfortable in front of a crowd. The ideal candidate is skilled in customer service and is excited about operating in new project territory without fear of failure. They are highly organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task on diverse projects and meet tight deadlines. They should be able to roll up their sleeves when needed, and most importantly, they should be curious and have a desire to learn something new.

Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks associated with varying R&D projects and strategic initiatives as directed by leadership
  • Participate in key leadership meetings to ensure timely access to information and documentation of agendas, meeting minutes, and action items
  • Support the department quality control process, acting as a second set of eyes on varying deliverables, presentations, and content
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal tools, job aides, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent management of the facility
  • Day-to-day management of Co|Lab including coordinating internal and external use of the facility, ensuring that the space is always ready for guests.
  • Manage Co|Lab activity tracker including managing cross-departmental contributors and ensuring deliverables are completed on a timely basis
  • Act as a brand ambassador for HITT and the Co|Lab – welcoming our internal and external team members to the facility
  • Executing creative events (such as Masters Series) and ideas to engage team members within the space including team member engagement, networking, and learning opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly Co|Lab activity reports and metrics for measuring success

Qualifications

  • Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing or project management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with comfort level in front of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven writing skills to capture project information and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Strong and creative problem solver is required.
  • Ability to balance speed with quality of results
  • Detail oriented, organized, and disciplined
  • Friendly, courteous, and positive in nature
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
