Financial Reporting Manager

The Financial Reporting Manager of HITT Contracting Inc. will lead a team of Associates who are responsible the Financial Reporting functions of the company.  This individual will report directly to the Corporate Controller.

 Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high performing accounting organization through training and mentorship of team members
  • Manage a forward-thinking view of departmental workload and capacity to drive optimum staff utilization
  • Provide timely and effective communications and data to other teams in Corporate Accounting so they possess the necessary information to perform successfully
  • Regularly review career path goals with team, providing feedback on progression
  • Ensure that HITT’s accounting functions effectively balance accuracy and efficiency
  • Create strategies and policies to support and execute all Corporate Accounting Financial Reporting activities and coordinate supporting information systems, including policies, procedures and initiatives with operating and support stakeholders
  • Ensure that HITT’s accounting practices are fully compliant with GAAP, US Government FAR / CAS rules and regulations
  • Continually assess & improve systems and automate accounting processes wherever possible
  • Knowledge of internal controls and ability to recommend changes and additions to policies / processes as needed
  • Communicate and enforce accounting policies and procedures
  • Compile, analyze, and report monthly data at the business unit level
  • Prepare and report on regular detailed reconciliations of the balance sheet and all related sub-ledgers (i.e. fixed assets, accounts receivable, bank statements/activity, WIP analysis, etc.)
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP and internal controls including revenue, profit and cash flow
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Maintain general ledger chart of accounts
  • Maintain company, department, and market sector structure within accounting system
  • Actively involved with month-end financial closing processes and activities
  • Engage in audit process throughout the year to ensure compliance
  • Accurate and timely journal entry approval & posting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • CPA license preferred
  • Experience with JD Edwards or other comparable ERP solution including analytical tools (BI)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
  • Understanding, yet persuasive and decisive when dealing with others in the organization
  • Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining high performing accounting teams
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members.
  • Ability to influence change, efficiency and morale among team members.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with others
