Learning and Development Associate – HITT University

HITT Contracting, ranked a best place to work for over 10 years by the Washington Business Journal and Washington Post, is hiring for an experienced Learning and Development Associate.  This is a national support position located at our headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia.  This position will report to the HITT University Manager and is responsible for supporting and contributing to key learning and development initiatives and training activities to meet the needs of HITT team members.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare class materials.
  • Ensure timely and consistent communication to team members, managers and stake holders regarding training and upcoming courses
  • Set-up training room for instructor-led classes and assist instructor as necessary.
  • Obtain and consolidate class feedback.  Provide results in a timely manner.
  • Assist with updating existing materials to include PPTs, web-based trainings and job aids
  • Act as the lead Learning Management System (LMS) database administrator for HITT’s LMS system.  Support tasks such as:
    • Monitoring and tracking training activity and compliance
    • Generating system reports and creating custom reports
    • Serving as liaison between client and technical resources as required; escalating issues through the proper channels and working with escalation point person to achieve issue resolution
    • Facilitating LMS training to end users
    • Managing registrations, withdrawals, wait lists and rosters for learning events in the LMS
    • Adding new content and offerings
    • Troubleshooting all system admin issues and tasks
  • Monitor and respond to HITT University email inbox
  • Identify new opportunities to improve processes, procedures and overall user experience

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably with coursework in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Distance Learning or Adult Education
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience authoring and editing web and computer-based training materials using e-learning software and authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and uploading content to an LMS desired
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as eLogic, Absorb
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and knowledge of best practices in online delivery as demonstrated through the submission of an online module designed and developed using Articulate Storyline 360.
  • Have demonstrated experience evaluating the effectiveness of training.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to work with senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement instructional materials and solutions following defined processes
  • Organized and self-directed with the ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite, MS SharePoint, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and MS Word preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Initiative and attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to master system administrator tasks
